Two sons: John W. Coonrod Jr. and Thomas Raymond Coonrod
Moved to Paris Missouri at age 15, met Emily Curtright, who he married in May 1944. Educated at the University of Missouri and Iowa during World War II. Served in the U.S. Navy, posted in Providence R.I. and Venice California.
Moved to Webster Groves, worked briefly for the Metropolitan Sewer District and then for Ladue Supply - later Ladue Building and Engineering. After retirement, he continues consulting in the construction business, for Eads Constructors.
