A Sunday Visit to Paracas, Peru

While working in Peru, I spent Sunday seeing seals, birds, sealions and waves in the beautiful tourist attraction known as Paracas.

"Candelero" - a formation said to have been created by the same mysterious people who create the Naxos Lines, visible only from high altitude.

Me, unsuccessfully hoping to avoid sunburn near the equator.

Rock formation known as "The Cathedral."  There is an accessible cave underneath the arch.

Some of the zillion seals and birds on the small islands.

"The maternity" - zillions of seal pups recently born. Seals have an 11-month gestation - we were told - and each mom can only feed one pup.

Me, inside the cave.

Inside the cave.
